چکیده

A novel modal signal decoupling algorithm for multicoupled transmission lines is developed. Since the proposed method exploits a set of basis vectors associated with the characteristic impedances of the transmission line system, these multi-coupled signals can be efficiently decoupled regardless of dielectric media and conductors. Thus, compact forms of the signal integrity verification CAD models for multi-coupled transmission lines can be readily determined. It is shown that the analytical models are in excellent agreement with those obtained with SPICE simulation and its computation time is much faster than the conventional macro model (W-model) in the order of two. key words: crosstalk, multi-coupled transmission lines, signal integrity, signal transient, simulation

Miniaturized High-Pass Filter Based on Balanced Composite Right-Left Handed Transmission Line Using Meander Spiral Complementary Split Ring Resonators

In this paper, a compact high-pass filter (HPF) with a sharp rejection response based on the balanced composite right-left handed (CRLH) transmission line (TL) concept is proposed. A series LC resonator using an interdigital capacitor and meander lines is designed. Also, a meander spiral complementary split ring resonator (MSCSRR) is used to realize the parallel LC resonator. The high-pass filt...

Generalized traveling-wave-based waveform approximation technique for the efficient signal integrity verification of multicoupled transmission line system

As very large scale integration (VLSI) circuit speed rapidly increases, the inductive effects of interconnect lines strongly impact the signal integrity of a circuit. Since these inductive effects make the signal integrity problems much more serious as well as intricate, they become one of the critical issues in today’s high-speed/high-density VLSI circuit design. In this paper, a generalized t...

Signal Transient and Crosstalk Model of Capacitively and Inductively Coupled VLSI Interconnect Lines

Analytical compact form models for the signal transients and crosstalk noise of inductive-effectprominent multi-coupled RLC lines are developed. Capacitive and inductive coupling effects are investigated and formulated in terms of the equivalent transmission line model and transmission line parameters for fundamental modes. The signal transients and crosstalk noise expressions of two coupled li...

Spice Compatible Model for Multiple Coupled Nonuniform Transmission Lines Application in Transient Analysis of VLSI Circuits

An SPICE compatible model for multiple coupled nonuniform lossless transmission lines (TL's) is presented. The method of the modeling is based on the steplines approximation of the nonuniform TLs and quasi-TEM assumptions. Using steplines approximation the system of coupled nonuniform TLs is subdivided into arbitrary large number of coupled uniform lines (steplines) with different characteristi...

Signal Integrity Analysis of High Speed Interconnects In PCB Embedded with EBG Structures

This paper brings out a novel method for reducing Near end and Far end Crosstalk using Electromagnetic Band Gap structures (EBG) in High Speed RF transmission lines. This work becomes useful in high speed closely spaced Printed Circuit Board (PCB) traces connected to multi core processors. By using this method, reduction of -40dB in Near-End Crosstalk (NEXT) and -60 dB in Far End Crosstalk (FEX...
